What Kind of Church is the Church of Christ?
We are a congregation of people who love to serve God in the manner which he has instructed.   We believe in Jesus Christ as the savior of the world because God teaches us in His Word, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).  In God's love for mankind, He gave us His very best!

We are a church... striving to follow Jesus and His teachings as best as we can. Though you cannot "join" the Church, everyone can be added to it by the Lord when they obey the gospel of Christ by being baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38,47).
We are a church... that has sincere love for those around us, wanting all to go heaven.
We are a church... that seeks to cut through centuries of tradition and doctrines of men by getting back to the Bible as the sole guide for our worship and for a successful spiritual life. As such, the church of Christ uses only the Bible for its basis of belief and teaching, thus rejecting the creeds and rules of men.
We are a church... that loves to study God's Word in our assemblies. Such an emphasis is key to a better understanding of who Jesus is, what He has done for us, and is central to the production of faithful and mature Christians. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We are a church... that is self governed, patterned after the Church one reads about in the New Testament with elders and deacons, and with Christ ruling as the head of the Church (Ephesians 5:23).  Â
What should you expect when you visit with us?Â
You will find the Old Aberdeen Road Church of Christ to be one of the friendliest groups of people you have ever encountered, filled with love and compassion.Â
You will also find our services to be conducted in and orderly and reverent fashion. We have prayer and acapella congregational singing. The sermon you hear will be Bible-based (not mere opinion or tradition.) We partake of the Lord's Supper each Lord's Day (Sunday) as exemplified by the New Testament church. During the services, we also take a collection to further the work of the church in West Point, and the rest of the world through our evangelistic efforts.Â
Classes are offered for every age ranging from pre-k through high school and adult classes. Thoughtful participation and questions are encouraged in all classes. Bible classes begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday with worship service at 10:00 a.m. Our Wednesday night Bible study classes begin at 6:30 p.m.Â
How Does one Become a Member of the Church That Jesus Built?
It is not our place to choose who will be a member of God's church. The Bible teaches that those who render obedience to God are added by the Lord to His church.
The Bible teaches fives things one must do in order to be added to the Lord's church...
   - We must hear the Word (Romans 10:14).
   - Hearing will produce faith (Romans 10:17)
   - The Word of God convicts us of sin, and convinces us of a need for a Savior. As such, one should be willing to repent of a life of sinfulness resolving to change one's life to walk in the footsteps of Christ (Acts 17:30)
   - We cannot be ashamed of Christ, but must be willing to confess Him before others (in word and deed) all of the rest of the days of our lives (Matthew 10:32-33)Â
   - Having a willingness to obey these four step, there is one more thing that Jesus says is required in order to obtain forgiveness of sins and salvation. We must be baptized in order to have our sins washed away (Acts 2:38). There is nothing magical in the water...but in submitting to baptism that we come into contact with the blood of Christ, making our plea to God for a clean conscience (1 Peter 3:21).Â
